How to Suspend or Unsuspend an account in WHM

When a cPanel account is suspended it stops all the processes owned. This suspension of the account does not allow the user to send mail through the mail server. The account’s user will fail as the mail server will force all the mails currently to the outbound message queue.

Account suspension is useful when you want to take one of your accounts offline and withdraw access privileges to your account holder, but do not wish to delete the account files from your server.

Suspend or Unsuspend an account:

Both Suspending and Unsuspending an account are managed from within the same place in WHM.
To suspend an account:

Log into WHM.

In the left side menu, find Account Functions.

Under Account Functions, tap Manage Account Suspension.

Select the primary domain(s), or username of the account(s) you wish to suspend.

Select the account in question by clicking on either the username or the main domain on the account. If you are suspending an account, you can place a note in the box to help remember why it was suspended. For example, ‘Late payment’.

Click on either Suspend or Unsuspend.

Go to List Suspended Accounts to verify.

You can Terminateand permanently delete this account using this button if you wish or you can lift the suspension from the account using the Unsuspend button.

The account has now been reactivated.
