How to Import Email Accounts using CSV or Excel File

Using Address Importer, cPanel provides a useful option to import email accounts using a CSV or Excel file.

When importing email forwarders, you have two file type options.

CSV (Comma-separated values)

You can use a CSV file to import your email forwarder information. The format will be as Email address, password, and quota of the mail address separated by a delimiter comma (,).

Sample CSV file format

Email, Password, Quota

Excel

You can also use a raw Excel file.

Below are the steps involved:

1 Login to cPanel

2 Navigate to Address Importer under the Mail section.

3. Select the Email Accounts option and then choose the CSV or Excel file from your local machine.

4. After choosing the file, you will see an option to select the delimiter and an option to select the first row as column headers.

5. You need to choose the delimiter and check the option Treat the first row as column headers and click Next.

6. Select the domain for which these mail accounts are exported and click the button ‘Next’.

7. Review the email accounts to be imported. To continue import operation click the Finish button and once the import is done, cPanel will show the imported mail accounts.

Follow the same steps in importing using Excel format.
